ABOUT THE VATRE
On November 4, 2025, Boerne ISD voters have the opportunity to approve a Voter Approval Tax Ratification Election (VATRE) that will keep more dollars in classrooms, support teachers, and strengthen learning, for TODAY and TOMORROW.

WHY THIS MATTERS
Boerne ISD is one of the lowest-funded districts in Texas—yet our community expects and deserves top-quality education for every child.

- Last year, 1 in 5 teachers left BISD for higher-paying districts.
- Student programs are at risk without stable local funding.

This VATRE is our chance to invest in EVERY student, EVERY teacher, and EVERY need. 81% of funds go toward teacher & staff compensation.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
By approving a 2¢ tax rate increase, we can generate:
- $4.8 million annually—funds that stay in Boerne (not recaptured by the state)
- Competitive pay for teachers: starting salaries raised to $60,000
- Fair wages for support staff: $16/hr. for paraprofessionals & $15/hr. for auxiliary staff
- Improved retention—keeping experienced educators in front of our kids
- Stronger programs that prepare students for the future
- Many homeowners will see a decrease in their school tax bill due to state homestead exemptions.
- Every dollar raised stays in BISD—invested directly into our classrooms and staff.
